- I was going to try reading a brand new author and a new genre of book but I finally found this book when I went home for the weekend and couldn’t resist. I love Janet Evanovich and I was incredibly happy when she wrote this book, which I hope turns into a new series. If anyone happened to read the Stephanie Plum short/holiday books you may remember the supernatural hunk, Diesel. He is one of the main characters in this book along with Elizabeth Tucker, a baker who just moved back to her hometown. It was a great read and had the humor I have come to love in every Evanovich book.
I used to be such a badass. Everyone was afraid of me. Everyone wanted to kill me. I needed Tank walking behind me to keep the paid assassins under control. And now look at me. I’m followed by a woman in a rented Taurus. And I can’t remember the last time someone tried to kill me.
